Locals
A loosely defined term for a community group composed of local folks, local businesses, and about local issues. Harvard, Groton, and Boxborough Locals share similar missions and goals. Their aim isn't political, but it may be activist. It isn't religious, but it may feed the spirit. It is most definitely local as opposed to distant.
Regional Locals meeting
Submitted by admin on Thu, 06/19/2008 - 17:48Chris Ryan of Concord Local organized an informal discussion about how all of our Locals could work together. He is also the town planner for Ayer and we met in their huge town hall - what a room. There were about 12 of us there, including folks from Groton, Harvard, and Concord Locals as well as some folks from Ayer and of course myself from Boxborough. After a couple hours of chat we found a local bar for some refreshment and another couple hours of chat. It was fun to be in a room full of people who know the meaning of words like Relocalization, Local Food, and Peak Oil.
